Laneous & The Family Yah
Laneous & The Family Yah make Grunty Rudeboy Soul and Croon Punk for your earholes. Together with the all singing, all dancing, all romancing Bird Fire Choir, Laneous (alternatively cheerful, smooth and demented) navigates his band through fiercely syncopated, occasionally bombast and otherwise wobbly grooves with his trademark falsetto croon and charming hip hop murmurs.
Bubblin’ up out of the artisan hot bed that is Brisbane’s West End, the Loveable Tramp and co have finely tuned a high energy and dynamic live show the old fashioned way – through grueling trips up and down the east coast, crashing on floors and fighting for DJ duties in the tour bus. Their Sophomore Album “Found Things” (Out Now through Creative Vibes) is testament to this non-stop touring ethic and sees the band at their most direct – a fight between the animal and the evolved, an uncompromised and highly joyous offering of soul, punk and hip hop.
With a staggering 7 Releases, a slew of Festival appearances and a non-stop grind of tour dates under their belt, Laneous & The Family Yah continue to landslide through Australia, gathering with them a happy trail of smiling freaks and bewildered bystanders. 2011 will see them release their Found Things Collection (Scissors, Paper & Rock) – 3 EPs offered as an accompaniment to Found Things. The first of these – the Scissors EP is due for release though Creative Vibes in February.
