Dam Funk - Toeachizown (Stones Throw)

You can catch Dam Funk’s Toeachizown in it’s entirety in stores now. My biggest criticism of this artist is his lack of variation in the beats department but I am dead keen to hear how the five-parter pans out as a long player. I’ve always admired the guy’s charisma and his sense of ambassadorship to his passions of Boogie, Modern Funk and Astronomy, of all things. With rumours of a tour in early 09, it’s gonna be great to finally see how he marries the wobbly space beats with the classic 80s soul sounds in a club surrounding, but for now, check out the 2CD for a fantastic introduction to one of the biggest ‘heroes’  of 2009.
