Phlash & Friends - Deep Electronic Sound
Phil Asher was once described to us as the Masters At Work of the UK and this LP reminds so aptly why someone would think that. If anyone could get away with making a proper, 100% House music album, it's have to be Phil Asher of Restless Soul fame. Goodness comes from everything he touches (be it deep house on the LP or that reggae/rocksteady joint he did for Raw Fusion recently) and boy does he have a hand in a lot of pies!
It's not wonder then, that he's been able to call in the WHOLE crew (the whole crew) including up and comers, radio dons, US soul hip hoppers and trusted musos you'd expect, to work on this new LP. It almost reads like a compilation but plays like a beautifully realised concept album. Benji B, Ommas Keith, Mark De Clive Lowe, Zed Bias, Dego, Rich Medina, Alma Horton, Zansika and more all guest on an album that takes in bits of Detroit, bit of classical, bits of eastern and, as mentioned, a lot of house.
It's not really available widely in Australia, so best buy this one online. And DJs, if you haven't already realised, YOU NEED THIS!
