The Bamboos

The Bamboos - Side Stepper

The Bamboos return with studio album number three, after 'Step It Up', 'Rawville' and the live album 'Listen! Hear! The Bamboos Live!'. This is undoubtedbly the band's maturation. After appearing across the east coast at Fuzzy's Parklife festivals, the band have taken in some shows to present the new material which features vocalists Kylie Auldist, Megan Washington, Ty and Paul Mac Innes. Swede Mac Innes presents the beautiful 'Move On', whereas Ty funks things up a bit with 'Can't Help Myself.' In a purpose departure from the straight up funk sound of earlier albums, the band brings us the sound of swinging London for what is ultimately a  refreshing take on the current RnB revival, but one one which you'll be enjoying for years to come. 'Side Stepper' has art by Wax Poetics alumni Brad Howe and whilst it may not be as DJ friendly as either of the other two studio albums, it's a rounder, more fuller sound that will have them reach a whole new heap of fans.
