The Ray Mann Three - Self Titled

The Ray Man Three release their debut self-titled album out now through MGM. It’s a contender for local release of the year and sits firmly alongside soul legend Al Green’s newie Lay It Down.
Leading with Smile, the album oozes a warm and familiarity that shows Rays great talent as a songwriter and musician. There are references to artists like Green and D’Angelo that can be made particularly in Tony Buchen’s production but it’s always subtle and will be a welcome introduction to the new artist for an unfamiliar audience. Highlights include Morena, Hook Me Up and Night With You on this set, but I suspect we’ll hear Ray shining for years to come – and hopefully utilising that falsetto on some electronic and contemporary RnB productions.
