Zed Bias & Omar - Dancing (Tru Thoughts)
Tru Thoughts announced a release for this (and accompanying albums by the respective UK singing and production heavyweights) late last year and it finally drops on wax about now and digital at the end of the month. Led by a ridiculous steel drum pattern and a chunky broken beat riddim, Omar scats his way around a song about meeting a nice gal at a party before Fox drops a double-time rudeboy chant on top of things. Since debuting some years ago on Benji B’s radio show they’ve added some unnecessary strings and guitar bits and, at the risk of overcooking it, have still managed to keep it in the lofty ‘single of the year’ realm it was always going to be. Tru Thoughts will release a new Zed Bias album shortly as well as re-releasing Omar’s magnificent Sing If You Want It LP shortly. The latter features Stevie Wonder, to give you an idea of the calibre of this guy’s voice!
